Ray Ontko & Company is a software development and consulting services firm which specializes in database reporting solutions. Founded in 1992, we provide development and consulting services to clients in the Midwest and nationally utilizing the experience and talent of a local work force committed to creative problem solving. Our clients and customers are typically large companies, governmental agencies, and not-for-profit organizations with substantial and complex database applications and environments. We are interested in helping organizations get the most out of the information stored in their database systems.

Ray Ontko & Co. specializes in creating reports, interfaces between applications, report repositories, data warehouses, data marts, and reporting subsystems for applications. A typical engagement for us is to create a reporting subsystem for an OLTP application. We regularly use Java, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Linux, Solaris, SQR, BrioPortal, Hyperion Performance Suite, PDF, and PostScript technologies in our solutions.

Ray Ontko & Co. is an active participant in the SQR user community. We find SQR to be an efficient and versatile programming language for working with databases, not only from a reporting standpoint, but also for building database interfaces, data conversions, database updates and even the development of web-enabled database applications. Through our leadership and involvement in the SQR-USERS e-mail list and the SQR User Group (www.sqrug.org), our consultants are at the center of a vibrant and stimulating user community focused on getting work done for organizations.

Internship Opportunities

Internships are available for qualified students at our Richmond, Indiana offices. Academic credit may be arranged through accredited colleges and universities, and a small stipend is paid.

Internships are available for students interested in programming (C or Java), technical writing, web design and development, and other areas.
